Online Swim team registration will start in March.  We will notify membership when that date is set.

Meet the Coaches

Beau Martin, Head Coach

Beau has been involved with the swim community since he was 6 years old.  He began with summer league swim team, progressed to year round swimming with Swim Atlanta, and as a member and Captain of the varsity swim team at Brookwood High School. During his swimming career he set multiple county and high school swimming records and developed friendships that have lasted a lifetime. He started coaching when he was 15 years old and continued doing so throughout college to stay in touch with the sport. After taking a few years off to start his career and get married he is excited to have the chance to join the Barracudas this summer! 

Faith Heyl, Assistant Coach
​Faith has been swimming competitively since she was 7 years old, and has been a Barracudas coach for six years.  This the first year that she is not eligible swim for the team.  She is a graduate of St. Pius X, where she was a member of the varsity swim team. She is also a triathlete, and is a member of the Auburn Club triathlon team. Faith is a rising sophomore at Auburn University studying Fitness, Conditioning, and Performance, and plans to pursue a career as a physical therapist and swim coach.

Alex Perry, Assistant Coach
Alex has coached 4 summer leagues seasons as an assistant head coach; he also has been coaching at Dynamo for over a year. He swam at Dynamo for 10 years and was on the national team his last 2. Alex was also on the varsity swim team for Chamblee High School for 4 years and is a multiple record holder. Alex is pursuing photography and will attend Georgia State in the fall seeking a journalism degree

Sam Tate, Assistant Coach

Sam is currently a fourth year student at UGA. He swam summer league since he was 4 years old and competitively through his second year of college. In Gwinnett County, he swam and coached for the Summit Chase Sharks. He graduated from Brookwood High School and attended Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky on a swimming scholarship. After a year and a half he decided to throw in the towel and move back to Georgia. Now he is picking the towel back up to continue coaching with the Barracudas this summer! 

Natalie Demars, Junior Coach

Natalie has been swimming on the Barracuda Swim Team since she was five years old. She is graduating from Woodward Academy in May, and has been a swimmer on both Atlanta Girls’ School and Woodward Academy’s varsity swim teams.  In the fall, she will be attending Eckerd College in Florida studying Biochemistry.  She is looking forward to a great season!

Charlotte Nichols, Junior Coach

Charlotte has been swimming for the Barracudas since age 4, and will be starting her 14th year on the swim team this season. She will be graduating from Woodward Academy in May and attending UGA in the fall to study International Public Health. She is also on the Woodward Academy swim and cross country teams as well as the Service Leadership Board. She cannot wait for an awesome season! Go Barracudas!!

Madison Speece, Junior Coach

Maddie has been swimming competitively since she was 5 and has been a Barracuda for the past 12 years. She has also been a member of the Dynamo Club team for the past 10 years and swam on the Lakeside Varsity Swim Team for all four years earning an Academic All-American status and a school record.  Maddie will be graduating from Lakeside High School this year and will be attending UGA in the fall to study Psychology. This will be her 4th year coaching and she can’t wait to get the season started!

Coaches in Training and Big Cudas - They will be instrumental in supporting the "Little 'Cudas" program, assisting with 6 & under practices and on-going coach support. These Barracudas will continue to swim competitively for the team but take on new responsibilities alongside the coaches.


Swim Suits: Our official swim suit is Nike color block Blk/Red 915 (girls) and Nike color block jammer Blk/Red 915 (boys). Suits can be tried on and purchased at Open House. A suit can be purchased here:

If you need assistance in ordering, please email or call (770) 479-9655.  The official swim suit is not a requirement. However, jammers/briefs are required for boys (no swim trunks) and a one piece suit is required for girls (no two piece suits). If you do not buy a Nike color block jammer, please buy something in black to stay consistent with the rest of the team.

Swim Caps: We encourage all swimmers to wear swim caps while swimming at all times. Barracuda swim caps can be purchased for $5 at Open House

Goggles: Each swimmer is responsible for buying their goggles. Goggles are recommended for all practices and meets. If you are struggling on which goggle is best, the coaches recommend Speedo, Jr. Hydrospex
